    Sure, why not. We did all the work already…!
    I actually hope this happens. I don’t mind doing all the work to build the roll if I don’t have to administer the tax this year.
    If they have the money and they want to help taxpayers, then why not just get rid of it now. One less thing for us to wonder about next year.

    I would suspect that it does have legs. If this was stated by a random state senator, who was submitting a bill on hopes and prayers, who knows how seriously it would be considered. If the Senate President is saying he’d like to accelerate the phaseout and is making it a priority, I think there is a good chance it could happen. I agree with what Chris said above.

    I would not be surprised as the State is flush with money this year. This can be done as a budget amendment and does not need legislation. So keep your eyes and ears open.
