Ethics Training is available in the following two formats:

    Live Training

The Ethics Commission offers live ethics trainings using the Zoom format. Each training lasts from 45-60 minutes, which includes time for questions at the end of the presentation. There is no limit to the number of participants during a Zoom training and larger groups are, in fact, encouraged.

    Prerecorded Training Online

Prerecorded training is now also available online through the RI Learning Center. There are a total of seven modules in the training, each 7-10 minutes in length. The modules can be taken in any order and need not be taken in one sitting. The training was designed to be completed in about an hour. A request to access the online training should be directed to me via email at lynne.radiches@ethics.ri.gov by the person who wishes to enroll in the training and should include the person’s municipal office, appointment, or position.

Both the live training and the prerecorded training cover the same material, so there is no need to take both. Anyone who wishes to engage in both the live training and the prerecorded training is, of course, welcome to do so.

Please circulate this email as you see fit to all those in your municipality who are subject to the Code of Ethics. The Ethics Commission encourages people to take ethics training every 1-2 years.

If you have any questions, desire additional information, or wish to schedule a training, please feel free to contact Lynne Radiches, Staff Attorney/Education Coordinator.
